We’ve been relentless & ruthless in the pursuit of crafting a new premium Australian Gin. It took time, jet-lag, hangovers & the best part of three (3) years to launch our considered creation. We shared & refined, listened & learned. Good things take time. But we’d like to think we balance our patience with hunger to create something pretty damn good

Let me introduce you to Patient Wolf Distilling Co’s, Matt Argus and Dave Irwin. After a stint of living overseas, these two (2) great mates returned to Australia, threw in their corporate jobs and made a decision to chase a pipe dream.

After four (4) years of research, business plans, project development and investing in the most incredible still you’ve ever seen, Patient Wolf Distilling Co…. was born!

Melbourne Dry

Our Melbourne Dry Gin is appropriately named after our hometown & where our distillery is. We spent years making, creating, refining our first gin. A process that seemed endless at the time but was obvious when it arrived. The result is a considered creation & a gin that is big, bold & complex, yet is incredibly smooth & balanced.


Summer Thyme

Inspired by Summer, for drinking all year round. Fresh thyme & lemons are vapour infused in our custom made muller copper still to produce a lively gin bursting with lemon zest & delicate piney freshness. Best enjoyed poolside, in a hammock or on a rooftop


Black Thorn Gin

Early Scottish settlers planted the blackthorn bush, also known as sloe, around northern Tasmania to create field boundaries & to bring a sense of home. Fresh sloe berries were handpicked & sent to our distillery & steeped in our Melbourne Dry Gin for five months, before lightly sweetening & releasing at 37%. Blackthorn 2019 has all the characteristics that led 2018’s release to sell out within a matter of days. Low sugar, big flavour, high ABV. This is how sloe gin should taste.
